Baxter's Vineyards, the oldest winery in the state of Illinois, is a small family winery located in the historic town of Nauvoo, Illinois. The winery was established in 1857 by Emile and Annette Baxter. Today, Baxter's Vineyards continues within the same family with co-owners, Kelly and Brenda Logan. Kelly is a part of the fifth generation of Baxter's to grow grapes and apples and make wine in historic Nauvoo.

The Wine Barrel is Nauvoo's only full service bar, located across the patio from Baxter's Vineyards. The Wine Barrel opened on March, 23rd 2013, featuring Baxter's Old Nauvoo Brand Wines.
All decor related to wine barrels - from the light fixtures, to the tables, you'll find wine barrels in many items used to furnish the building.

The Wine Barrel offers a selection of cheese plates, Angelini's Pizza, and hot dips, and a few traditional "bar foods" cooked at your request. Stop in and see other appetizers available!The Wine Barrel is a space frequently used for card game nights, bachelor/bachelorette party, class reunions etc. Call 217-453-2528 to request special hours for your event!
